One method to reduce social anxiety may lie in forging friendships with people of different races and ethnicities, according to a new study conducted by UC Berkeley researchers. The study found that having cross-race friendships can reduce cortisol, a hormone linked to stress, for those in social situations with people from different social groups and ethnicities.
